Is R.O.EYE “Best Agency in Affiliate Marketing”? We’ve been shortlisted…!
No comments · Posted by Rich Wright in Industry News, R.O.EYE News

It’s that time of the year again – people are dusting down their DJs and posh frocks ready for the annual A4U Affiliate Marketing Awards. I’ve been looking for an excuse to wear my dinner jacket for a while now, praying I can still get into it! You never know, I might even have a proper shave for this one.
For the uninitiated, the A4U Awards recognise the great and the good of the affiliate marketing industry in the UK. There are a range of categories to vote in, such as account manager of the year and best blog, as well as panel-judged categories including best agency and best new entrant to affiliate marketing.
So here we are again, it’s 2010 and we are proud to announce that R.O.EYE has once again been shortlisted for Best Agency in Affiliate Marketing, having been highly commended in each of the previous 3 years of the awards. We hold the firm belief that we are the leading affiliate management agency in the UK and to back this up we can point to the work we do in supporting, growing and retaining key clients such as eBay, Santander, DSGi Business and Holidaybreak.

Quality based pricing model
By way of example in the case of eBay, we played a pivotal role in the launch of the award winning Quality Click Pricing model (Econsultancy innovation award 2009). This involved management of; beta testing; utilising and building affiliate relationships to gather feedback, and working closely with the US and European eBay teams to finalise a payment structure that would fairly reward affiliates for the quality of their traffic. In addition, we are regularly featured as guest authors on the ePN blog and – yes you guessed it – that’s up for an award too!
We can also list new business wins with SSL International, Blackwell Books and Logbook Loans, a continuing commitment to technology developments with our Icon 2.0 reporting and planning tool, as well as extending reach to manage programmes in the US through Links of London.

Chris Worthy
But a great agency needs great staff and R.O.EYE’s involvement in the nominated categories doesn’t end there! We’re also proud to have one of our account managers shortlisted for Affiliate Manager of the year (In House or at an Agency)… take a bow Chris Worthy! For those of you who don’t know Chris, he is Senior Programme Manager and has been managing the eBay Partner Network programme since August 2008.
So we look forward to seeing all you beautiful people there for what promises to be a great night… fingers crossed!

The Econsultancy Innovation Awards 2009: And the winner is……

Congratulations to eBay for winning the coveted Econsultancy “Innovation in Affiliate Marketing” award. The eBay Partner Network fought off competition from the likes of the multiple award winning Skimlinks as well as innovations from VAC Media and Webgains Site Seeker. The judges commented on the “fantastic idea from eBay. The Quality Click Pricing (QCP) is a no-brainer. The decision to reward affiliates based on customer lifetime value and PayPal usage is a highly compelling incentive.”
I think the award provides the recognition that the bold move to the new payment structure deserves. For a long time the questions over the value that affiliate marketing provides have remained unanswered. For an advertiser to go out there and develop an industry leading approach demonstrates their dedication and confidence in the affiliate model. It will certainly be interesting to see if any other large advertisers follow suite.
